CHASING THE VISION SINCE 1971

From a homemade wind turbine built in 1971 to light a maple sugar shack in Pittsford, Vermont, to a 20 acre, 2.1 Megawatt solar farm in our corporate backyard, AllEarth’s journey has been powered by nature and driven by ingenuity.

When he was 14, AllEarth’s CEO, David Blittersdorf, built his first wind turbine on the family’s sugaring shack. While a student at the University of Vermont, he built another wind turbine, and started what would be a decades-long relationship with electronics engineer John Miller.  After graduating in 1981, David founded NRG Systems in Hinesburg—one of the most successful wind energy companies in the U.S.

On New Year’s Eve 2007, on that proverbial back of a napkin, David sketched out the initial design for a solar tracker, a device he imagined would follow the sun —  the way a sunflower does — for maximum energy absorption.

In the years since that New Year’s Eve pizza pub napkin, the AllEarth team has earned national recognition as a leader in the renewable energy industry by continuously refreshing our thinking, innovating our products, and renewing our goals, all while remaining as constant as the sun in our commitment to creating a more resilient and sustainable future for our planet.
